Hello, my name is Holly Storton.
I’m running for the role of Inverness Depute President of HISA.
I’m currently studying on the Highers and Nationals programme and hope to be offered a place on one of the Creative Writing degree courses at UHI next year. My passions are reading, writing, music, photography and spending time in nature.
I have ADHD and Autism and I’m inspired by the brilliant support and inclusivity that the UHI already offers. I’ve decided to run for the role of Inverness Depute President so that I can make a positive difference to your experience at UHI and be a friendly face you can come and talk to if you need anything.
If elected I will work to
- Improve student engagement by continuing to hold a range of interesting and fun events
- Encourage community involvement through creating links with local charities, organisations and businesses
- Promote sustainability, by raising awareness and encouraging student and staff discussion and involvement in green projects across the campus
- Campaign for more allergy-friendly food choices and quieter areas in the cafeteria
I’d love to help achieve a college experience that works for everyone. I’ve been home educated for most of my life, so I understand some of the challenges that can come with starting or restarting education – especially as a neurodiverse student.
I feel that if we all communicate what we need and work together, we can drive positive change.
Thank you very much for reading my manifesto
