Advice Service

The Advice Service is a free and impartial service that offers assistance to all UHI students. We can help with academic issues and direct you to university services for other support. Our goal is to provide you with the resources and guidance you need to make the most of your student experience.

  • About The Advice Service As a student, your Student Association is here to provide support for your academic and personal success. Our independent Advice Service offers free, impartial advice to all UHI students.
  • Contact Us The Advice Service is available during the opening hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am-5 pm. We provide advice through various appointments, including voice and video calls as well as email. We can also support you as a companion or representative at University meetings.
  • Academic Matters The learning journey can be challenging, but we’re here to help. Find guidance on academic integrity, fitness to practice, mitigating circumstances, and appeals. Get the support you need to stay on track and succeed.
  • Student Housing Once you've picked your campus and course, the next big decision is deciding where to live. Take your time exploring the various accommodation options and keep an open mind to ensure flexibility. Feel free to check out our student housing tips for friendly advice on finding the right accommodation, including tips on where to live and what to consider when house hunting.
  • Student Money Don't let financial challenges disrupt your student experience. Explore our advice on budgeting, alternative funding, hardship support, emergencies, and more.
  • International Students We understand that adjusting to a new country can be challenging, but we are here to assist our international students at every step!
  • Wellbeing Your wellbeing is important to us and the Advice Service understands that student life can be stressful sometimes. However you are feeling and no matter what stage of your studies you’re at, the UHI and Your Students’ Association are here to provide you with the support you need.
  • Complaints And Conduct Find guidance on making a complaint, understanding student conduct expectations, and navigating UHI policies. This section covers the UHI and HISA complaints processes, the Student Code of Conduct, disciplinary procedures, and the Support to Study process. Get the information you need to resolve issues and seek support.
