SVR meetings take place several times over the academic year at most of our academic partners and centres. They are a chance for our Student Voice Reps to come together to share their fellow classmates' perspectives about the student experience, hear updates from HISA about its work, and develop ideas and suggestions together for the enhancement of learning. The meetings are a hugely important part of our partnership working with UHI to improve the quality of learning.
This page tells you all about our SVR meetings: what we do at the meetings, our forthcoming dates, and the reports that come out of them.
If you're an SVR, please read on and get involved! If you are UHI staff, you're welcome to observe a meeting that is convenient to you from the list below.
Exploring the Student Learning Experience
Our SVR meetings aim to discuss many current developments at UHI, including the feedback that reps bring from their fellow students. One of our main discussions at each meeting is the Student Learning Experience (SLE) model developed by sparqs, Scotland's national agency for student partnership.
The SLE model is at the heart of Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework, which is the approach for colleges and universities to ensure we have high quality learning.

We in HISA cover the SLE model in detail in our training for SVRs, and we use it to help us have conversations with SVRs about learning. The model comprises nine building blocks with three underpinning lenses. Each building block contains ten questions that can be used or adapted to explore learning with students and staff.
Over 2025-26, and following a trial in 2024-25, we are using the building blocks as prompts for discussion at SVR meetings and in our SVR Teams space. This allows SVR input to be gathered proactively and spread across the learning experience.

SVR meeting reports
HISA's teams across the UHI partnership run their local SVR meetings, and work with relevant academic partner management to share outcomes and ideas. Each round of meetings - plus discussion in our SVR Teams space - will look at a topic from the SLE model.
We produce reports from our meetings, including on on our SLE theme for each round. You can find reports from 2025-26 below:
