After successful training presenters would be responsible for a weekly one or two hour programme - either request or an agreed specific type of music.
We aim to provide as many request driven shows as possible with requests from the hospitals coming mainly during the evening while care home request shows are day-time based. We currently serve 30 care homes, but that is expected to more than double in the next few months. Music is of a varied nature from stars of the 40s and 50s to the more melodic modern chart hits.
Full training is given and support offered thereafter. The mechanics are easily mastered - one volunteer was ready to broadcast in 20 minutes, a wide ranging knowledge of music and an easy going and friendly manner is paramount.
We are a friendly team and would be delighted to invite you along for a chat and look around.

CareSound Radio, the operating name of Hospital Radio Perth broadcasts radio programmes 24 hours a day every day to hospital patients, care home residents and the general public. We played around 3,500 requests during 2023. Our membership is made up of broadcasters (much easier than you think) and those who visit listeners and encourage requests (sometimes more difficult than you think!). Our members come from every sector of society and range in age from 18 to those well over 70. Our programming is wide ranging in style and content but is aimed primarily at an older age range.
