In October and November 2026, UHI will undergo a major national review called Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review (TQER). It’s the main method for understanding the quality of learning in Scotland’s colleges and universities.
Most of the Academic Partners of UHI will have their own specific Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review at some point between 2027 and 2030. HISA’s Student Officers and staff are working closely with UHI and the Academic Partners to prepare for each of these reviews and to respond to any actions that come out of them.
A big question in all these reviews is “how good the learning experience is in UHI – and how it can be better?”
The views of students, including Student Voice Reps, are obviously very important to answering this question.
In UHI’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review, a team of experts from other institutions (including a student reviewer!) are meeting a large number of students over October and November to try to find answers to this big question.
