Our volunteers are central to the smooth running of Orkney 2025. The Games-time Volunteer Programme is open from 15th January to 12th September 2024.
Orkney Island Games
The Orkney 2025 International Island Games will take place from 12-18 July 2025. Orkney will have the privilege of hosting the 20th International Island Games in its landmark 40th year since it all began. This week-long event will see athletes from up to 24 island groups from across the world compete in 12 sports: Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Bowls, Cycling, Football, Golf, Gymnastics, Sailing, Squash, Swimming, and Triathlon.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Orkney 2025. We're organising a celebration of sports and island communities, and need your help to make the event a success. This week-long event will see athletes from up to 24 island groups from across the world compete in 13 exciting sports.
The form will take around 10 minutes to complete. There are two ways of volunteering. You can either sign up to some of the generic volunteer roles, or if you have links to a particular sport and they have asked you to volunteer for them, you can sign up directly to help that sport.
Specific Roles include: Marshalls, Fan Zone Team, Spectator Services, Ceremony Support, Drivers, Mascot, Manual Handlers, Event Runner, Welcome Teams, Admin, and more!
