Candidate Pledges
Manifesto:
- I will work with local staff to ensure students are supported during the cost of living crisis, including aiming to introduce at least one free meal day available from campuses.
- I will hold UHI and Your Students’ Association accountable in ensuring that all student’s voices are heard and are at the centre of all decisions.
- To speak to students and encourage realistic feedback on their courses/study mode to ensure content and delivery is the best it can be.
- To ensure their is a community inclusive for all students do that everyone can find somewhere that they feel is a good fit for them, promoting the social and educational aspect of college/university.
What do I bring to the Role?
- Two years of experience fighting in the interests of students and acting as their voice on boards of management and various workstreams.
- Over six years of experience at UHI in both FE and HE settings as well as local insights into areas of operations.
- A deep passion for improving the student experience for everyone at both a UHI and national level.
- Commitment to continue working my absolute hardest for all students, from those at small rural centres to those at larger campuses - each come with their own culture and challenges.
Why you should vote for me?
- I have proven my continued investment and commitment to the students of UHI and have ensured the student voice has been heard.
- I promise to base my work on student feedback, not to follow my own agenda.
- I promise to represent UHI students at a national level, even if we are comparatively small compared to larger more historic institutions, our voices are just as important as a true tertiary institution.
