In 2024-25, we are piloting a Subject Intern scheme to strengthen the student view in UHI's faculty structure. While learning and teaching is provided by UHI's Academic Partners across our many campuses, provision is also grouped into two faculties and six Cognate Subject Groups.
Our pilot is operating in Business, Leisure and the Creative Economy (BLCE), with our Subject Intern Charlotte Usher, a Creative Writing student at UHI Moray, spending roughly one day per week to provide a student expertise to decisions about learning and teaching in this subject area. Her role involves being a member of relevant committees and panels in UHI, working with the Associate Dean for BLCE, and leading a project that will contribute to student community building.
We are grateful to UHI's Learning and Teaching Academy for jointly funding the pilot this year, and are working with them to evaluate it with a view to expansion to other subject areas in the future.
