While learning and teaching is provided by UHI's Academic Partners across our many campuses, provision is also grouped into two Faculties and six Cognate Subject Groups. HISA is working with UHI to strengthen the student view in these structures, providing a student expertise to decisions made about the quality of learning, teaching and the curriculum across UHI's subject areas.
During 2025-26, we have two Faculty Interns who sit on the two UHI Faculty Boards and on various internal quality panels and forums that relate to degree approvals and UHI's internal reviews of subject and service areas. Our interns this year are:
- Jamie Thomson (Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Business and Education), UHI Perth.
- Kian McDonald (Faculty of Science, Health and the Environment), SAMS.
We are grateful to UHI's Learning and Teaching Academy for jointly funding a pilot Subject Intern scheme in 2024-25, and this has informed the introduction of Faculty Interns for this academic year.
