Want to play shinty for UHI?
We’re looking for player for the men’s and women’s teams to take on the Littlejohn Vase in St Andrews!
On Wednesday 18th March 2026, we’ll be heading down to St Andrews to compete in the Littlejohn Vase- the most prestigious shinty tournament on the university calendar.
We first entered UHI teams into the tournament in 2024, with the women’s team winning bronze medals and the men’s team winning the vase itself. This was the first time in 15 years it had gone to a non-central belt team. In 2025, the men’s team retained the title and the women’s team won silver medals.
We’re putting two teams in again and it promises to be a fantastic day out! All transport and refreshments are provided and the opportunity is open to all UHI students. Please contact amanda.fleet@uhi.ac.uk to sign up for the team!
