About Us
Blood On The Clocktower Club is an online and in-person [Inverness] group dedicated to social deduction game Blood On The Clocktower!
What is social deduction?
Social Deduction is a type of game where players are encouraged to use social cues and information they may learn throughout the game to uncover who is telling the truth and who is lying. Usually this is done by having an uninformed majority being pitted against an informed minority, typically referred to as the Good and Evil team respectively.
Why Blood On The Clocktower?
No long waiting time.
If you've ever played a social deduction game before you'll know the worst feeling, "Ugh, I'm dead, now I have to sit in silence for half an hour while my friends play the game". Instead, in BOTC, dead players still have an impact on the game; they can still talk and help alive players stop evil or mislead the good team. However, they'll still lose any ability their character might've had and only have one final vote to use during trials.
Everyone has a power, good or bad.
In BOTC there is no generic 'villager' role, everyone has a special power they can use, such as learning if those sitting next to you are evil, or tainting a good players information every night.
Player interaction is encouraged.
Instead of all sitting around in a circle and being forced to loudly proclaim to the group any information you've learned, and by extension putting a target on your back, you can have private conversations with individual players.
Want to discuss how you should use your power? Invite someone you trust to talk about it.
Want to make a dastardly plan to destroy the town? Take your fellow evil players to a shady corner and plot.
