UHI Islamic Society

The UHI Islamic Society (ISoc) represents Muslim students across the University of the Highlands and Islands. Guided by the principles of faith, knowledge, and service, we provide a welcoming environment where students can strengthen their connection to Islam, pursue academic excellence, and form lasting friendships.
Operating under the supervision and guidance of Inverness Masjid / Inverness Islamic Community and Education Centre, our society serves as a bridge between the university and the local Muslim community.
We aim to support students' spiritual, social, and wellbeing needs while promoting mutual understanding and positive engagement within the wider Inverness community.

• Spiritual Support: Encourage authentic and inclusive opportunities for Islamic learning and personal growth in partnership with Inverness Masjid.
• Academic Empowerment: Promote excellence through study groups, speaker events, and mentorship that integrate faith and scholarship.
• Community Building: Create welcoming spaces that strengthen brotherhood, sisterhood, and belonging among Muslim students at Inverness Campus.
• Civic Engagement: Collaborate with Inverness Masjid on outreach, charity, and interfaith projects to serve both Muslim and wider local communities.
• Accountability and Governance: Operate transparently under mosque supervision, ensuring all activities align with Islamic ethics, safeguarding, and university policy.
