Creativity thrives in every corner of our college, and this year’s Art Competition invites students from all programmes and pathways to showcase the incredible talent that makes our campus so vibrant. This open call celebrates the imagination, skill, and unique perspectives of our student community. Whether you’re an emerging artist, an experimental maker, or simply passionate about creative expression, this is your opportunity to share your work, gain recognition, and inspire others across our campus. We can’t wait to see what you create.

COMPETITION TIMELINE:
- Competition opens: 2 March
- Submission deadline: 29 March
- Competition Judging: Provisionally 1 April
- Printing and hanging artwork: w/c 13 April
- Unveiling of artwork: w/c 24 April
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY HISA PERTH:
- Digitally via PNG, TIFF, PDF, EPS, or RAW files, emailed to hisa.perth@uhi.ac.uk, or
- Submission of the original piece to the HISA Perth office.
- Submissions must be received no later than 5pm on Sunday 29th March 2026.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Submissions must come from students currently enrolled at UHI Perth
- HISA employees are not permitted to enter this competition, including career staff and elected officers.
- Students will be asked to submit artworks, photography themed around their chosen prompt.
- Artists should consider that artworks will be displayed in a shared space where everyone is welcome. Therefore, submissions must not contain profanity, hate speech, or obscene nudity.
- Submissions will be judged by a panel made up of representatives from HISA and UHI Perth.
- Submissions will be judged based on how well they respond to the theme, whether they are suitable for framing and sizing to the dimensions below, and according to the opinion of the judges.
- Chosen pieces must be suitable for framing and hanging in an A0 frame.
- Therefore, larger or smaller pieces must be increased or reduced in size without quality loss.
- The successful entrants will be notified by HISA Perth via their student email. The chosen pieces and artists will be publicly announced on 28th April 2026.
- Information on being successful must not be shared until made public via HISA and UHI Perth’s communication channels.
- By submitting artwork for this competition, entrants are confirming they are happy for their work to be displayed publicly at UHI Perth’s campus, specifically the Goodlyburn Canteen, with their name and the title of the piece.
