Manifesto

Candidate for the position of Perth Depute President

Image for Andi Garrity

Andi Garrity

 Pledge
 Andi  Garrity  for  Depute  President

What  I  hope  to  achieve if  I  am  elected:  If  elected  I  would  aim  to:

?     Promote  social  events  outside  regular  timetabling  hours
?     Promote  use  of  the  Sports  Injuries  Training  Clinic
?     Promote  the  use  of  food  &  beverage  facilities  outside  regular  timetabling  hours

I  believe  that  students,  especially  those l iving  on  campus,  would  appreciate  the  use  of  on  campus  food  &  beverage  facilities  outside  regular  timetabling  hours if it is  correctly  marketed.  This  could  also  provide  students  with jobs  as  people  would  need  to  work  to  run  these  places.  I  also  understand  that  the  Sports  Injuries  Training  Clinic is  under  advertised  even  though i t  helps  average  students  with  daily living  as  maintenance  treatments  are  offered  as  well  as  student  therapists  to  get  their  placement  hours.  I  am  studying  HNC  Soft  Tissue  Therapy  at  UHI  Perth  this  year  and  will  progress  onto  HND  Sports  Therapy  next  year.

What  I  will  bring  to  the  role

?     Over  this  academic  year  I  have  been  a  Student  Voice  Representative l iaising  with  my  class  cohort  and  have  raised i ssues i ncluding  but  the lack  of  microwave in  the  Webster  (Starbucks)  Building  for  students  to  heat  their  own  food  brought in  from  home  at  the  start  of  this  year.
?     I  am  proud  to  be  a  student  at  UHI  Perth  and  wish  for  everyone  to  have  the  best  experience  possible.

Why  should  you  vote  for  me?

?     I  have  worked in  food  &  beverage  for  three  years  and  have  a  Certificate  Distinction in  Enterprise  &  Marketing  so  with  the  support  of  the  student  body,  staff  and  other  officers  I  believe  a  social  space is  a  real  possibility.
?     I  aim  to  respond  to  every  query  that  makes its  way  to  me  through  proper  channels

Thank  you for  taking  the  time  to  read  my  pledge.  Feel  free  to  get i n  contact  with  me  to  ask  me  any  questions  about  my ideas.
 My  email is:  23002241@uhi.ac.uk
