Candidate for the position of Vice President Education

Ahren Armstrong

Hey there! I’m Ahren Armstrong, navigating through my studies at UHI Argyll with a tech loving spirit and a knack for creativity. My educational journey hasn’t been your typical ride grappling with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia has thrown me some curveballs. But it’s also given me a firsthand look at the not so great sides of education, and frankly, I’m set on changing that narrative.

Here’s What I’m All About:

Celebrating Every Student: Diversity’s the spice of life, right? I believe our differences should lift us up, not hold us back. Whether it's your background, how you identify, or the hurdles you face, it's all part of what makes you awesome. I want our education system to reflect that.

Let’s Get Social: Remember when we could just chat and hang out in class? COVID kinda threw a wrench in that, but I say it’s time to bring back the fun. I’m talking more interactive classes where everyone feels comfy jumping in on the conversation, camera on or off.

Life Outside the Books: School’s tough enough without worrying about your next meal or making rent. I’m looking at ways to ease those stresses, so we can all focus on what really matters, learning and growing together.

Why Me, You Ask?

My own ups and downs have shown me exactly where we need to patch things up in our education system. I’m not just here to talk the talk I’ve lived through the challenges, and I’m ready to tackle them head on. With me as your Vice President of Education, it’s all about making sure your voice is heard and your needs are front and center.

So, what do you say? Let’s make our education experience something we can all look forward to, filled with support, understanding, and a whole lot of fun. Here’s to a brighter, more inclusive future at UHI!
