Nataliia Harasymiuk

Hello, my name is Nataliia. I am running for Vice President of Education. I have a permanent and significant physical disability. But, I can work and study online using a computer. I am studying at a UHI college in the course of Computing and Digital Media SQF5 oline as an international student use online class room. Before that, I studied at a computer academy in Ukraine. I have some experience in 3D design. I understand 2D and 3D design as well as motion and web design. I have research, teamwork and communication skills. I learn quickly, making a significant contribution to the common environment.

I am running because I believe that online education should be more accessible, organized, and engaging for all students. As an international student studying Computing and Digital Media Online, I understand the challenges of remote learning. My goal is to improve the online education experience by making it more user-friendly, efficient, and interactive for both students and lecturers.

My background in 2D and 3D design, motion and web designallows me to see practical digital solutions that can improve how students access learning materials and interact with their courses.

Key Campaign Points:
Improving the Online Learning Platform

Right now, Brightspace serves as our main learning platform, but it lacks organization in a way that truly supports students.
I will campaign for a better structured platform similar to a CPM (Content and Project Management) system, where students can easily find:
Homework sections
Lecturers comments
Library resources
Lesson schedule and assessment in the form of a calendar
Quick links to other useful tools
Easily generate a portfolio and build a resume
With a well-organized platform, students could spend less time searching for materials and more time actually learning.

Online platforms can be confusing, especially for new students.
That’s why I want to propose a 3D digital guide character—a friendly virtual assistant that would help students find their way around the platform, remind them of upcoming deadlines, and provide useful study tips. This simple addition could make online learning more interactive and welcoming, especially for new students.
This character would:
Introduce students to the platform when they first log in.
Send reminders about important deadlines and upcoming assessments.

Many students struggle with unclear expectations and delayed feedback.
I will push for improved feedback systems, where teacher comments on assignments are more accessible and structured.
Creating a better student support section, where students can quickly find answers to common issues or ask for help.

I know what it’s like to learn in an online environment, and I understand the challenges students face. My background in 2D and 3D design, motion design, and web design allows me to see practical, digital solutions that could make online learning at UHI better for everyone. I believe in using technology to enhance education, not complicate it.

Let’s Make This Happen!
If you believe in a smarter, better-organized online learning experience, I ask for your support. Together, we can introduce a helpful digital guide, and create stronger communication between students and staff.

📅 Vote for me, Natalia, for Vice President of Education! Let’s make online learning better for everyone! 🎓💻

Voting will take place between at 10:00 on Monday 10 March 2025, and I’d love to have your support!
