Marleen is the Finance and Compliance Coordinator for the Highlands and Islands Students’ Association, a role she has held since January 2022. In her position, she oversees financial management and ensures compliance with relevant regulations, supporting the organisation’s mission to serve students across the region.
Originally from the Netherlands, Marleen moved to Scotland in 2012 and has since built a solid career in finance and administration. With a deep interest in finance, she is currently pursuing further qualifications to become a certified bookkeeper, enhancing her expertise in the field.
Marleen holds a Master's degree in Nutrition and Immunology, which she earned from Wageningen University in the Netherlands in 2012. This strong academic foundation in science, coupled with her practical experience in finance, allows her to bring a unique and analytical perspective to her current role.
