Scottish Women and Girls in Sport Week runs from the 30th of September-6th October 2024.

Our Sports Development Coordinator Amanda is working with the UHI Active Campus Coordinators to bring you some brilliant give it a go sessions, open to all students identifying as female, this is your opportunity to try out your new favourite sports! 

UHI Olympic Weightlifting Club - Women and Girls in Sport Week Taster Session

Tuesday 1st October 4pm-6pm UHI Inverness Fitness Suite

Come and try great opportunity to learn anything from Olympic lifts to the basics of how to lift a barbell in a girls only session.  Open to all students identifying as female, whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced lifter.  We’d love to see you there! This a free session taking place in the Fitness Suite on the 01/10/2024. Curling Taster Session - Women and Girls in Sport Week

Thursday 3rd October 4pm-5pm Dewars Ice Rink, Perth 

Come and try one of Scotland's oldest sports and learn the basics of curling in a women and girls only session. Open to all students identifying as female, take to the ice and discover a new hobby! The session is a special student price of £3.95 and can be booked by emailing amanda.fleet@uhi.ac.uk.

UHI Inverness Volleyball Session - Women and Girls in Sport Week

Wednesday 2nd October 7pm-9pm, UHI Inverness Sports Hall

Give volleyball a go with the UHI Inverness Volleyball Club. The club is mixed gender and open to all, with opportunities to compete in friendlies and the UHI Varsity in Semester 2. Contact 20011620@uhi.ac.uk for more details!

Fort William Foxes Social Ride - Women and Girls in Sport Week

Sunday 6th October 7.30pm, Nevis Range Carpark

Fort William Foxes, are an all inclusive female focused Mountain Bike social club.

With days growing shorter and leaves turning browner it’s time to get those lights dusted out the drawer. Hopefully we’ll have enough light to start off with but you’ll need them for the rest of the cycle. Bring your bike, helmet and any other protection you wear.
